Russell King captured "First Light," the tiny cusp tips of the partially-eclipsed solar crescent just begin to emerge from the Atlantic Ocean horizon as seen from Ocean Grove, NJ. Taken at 5:27 am EDT on June 10, 2021, with a Canon XSi digital SLR camera and a Canon 70 to 300 mm zoom lens at 300 mm focal length. Exposed 1/60 second at f/5.6, ISO 400.

The "Devil's Horn's," the cusps of the partially eclipsed sun have emerged from the Atlantic Ocean horizon. Taken at 5:28 am EDT with a Canon XSi digital SLR camera and a Canon 70 to 300 mm zoom lens at 300 mm focal length.

 The eclipsed sun at 5:34 am EDT, now at 52.5 arc minutes altitude (0.9°), measured from the apparent solar center.
