Photo Spotlight   Image posted 9.28.2015

Club member Jim Mack captured the totally-eclipsed moon on September 27, 2015, at 11:04 pm EDT, 17 minutes after maximum eclipse at 10:47 pm. This image was captured with a Canon EOS Rebel T2i digital SLR camera at the prime focus of an Astro-Tech AT111 f/7 apochromatic refractor. It was exposed 2.5 seconds at ISO 400. Note the magnitude 7.2 star HD 1385 emerging from occultation at the two o'clock position on the lunar limb. Club members Russell King and Joe Stieber also imaged the eclipsed moon.
