Welcome to the Official Home Page of the West Jersey Astronomical Society (formerly known as the Willingboro Astronomical Society). Photo Spotlight Image posted 9.02.2019
Club member Howard Schneck captured this image of the Crescent Nebula (NGC 6888) in the constellation Cygnus on the night of August 29/30, 2019, from the WAS's new Barnegat Rd observing site, under a wonderfully clear and transparent sky. It was "opening night" for the site, so this image is the first deep-sky astrophoto from there. It was exposed for 160 minutes (32 x 5 minute subs) with minimal processing so far.
