Indian Pipes (Monotropa uniflora) near the Skit Branch bridge on the sand road past Carranza Field. These parasitic flowering plants lack chlorophyll, so they can't make their own food (in that respect, they resemble mushrooms). Captured with a Canon 6D digital SLR camera and a Canon 70 to 200 mm f/2.8L zoom lens (on a fixed tripod) set to 135 mm focal length. Exposed 1/10 second at f/11, ISO 200.
Another view, with a Canon 24 to 105 mm f/4L zoom lens at 105 mm focal length. Exposed 1/125 second at f/11, ISO 1600.
A close-up crop (about 40%) of the flowers in the preceding picture.
