Photo Spotlight   Image posted 01.17.2016

This spectacular image of The Andromeda Galaxy, Messier 31 (NGC 224), along with its companions M32 (NGC 221) and M110 (NGC 205), was captured by club member Jerry Lodriguss on January 2, 2016, from Steelmantown in Belleplain State Forest, NJ. Jerry used a stock Canon T5i (700D) digital SLR camera at the prime focus of a 65 mm, f/6.5 Astro-Tech AT65EDQ Quadruplet Apochromatic Refractor tracking on an Astro-Physics 1100 German equatorial mount. It was exposed a total of 100 minutes at ISO 800 with several different exposures for this High Dynamic Range rendering. Click here for more.
