Welcome to the Official Home Page of the West Jersey Astronomical Society (formerly known as the Willingboro Astronomical Society). Our club is in its 51st year of serving both the public and the amateur astronomers of the Delaware Valley. We have a long history of public education, star parties, interesting meetings, in-depth training and experienced leadership. We are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. May 12 Public Star Watch at Batsto. Check back on the day of the event for the weather call (go or no-go) Due to a poor weather forecast, tonight's Star Watch has been cancelled. The next Public Star Watch at Batsto is on June 9.
May 15 New Moon at 7:48 am EDT in western Taurus.
May 18 Informal Meeting, 7:30 pm at the Virtua Health and Wellness Center in Moorestown, NJ. As always, guests are welcome and no astronomical experience is necessary. Use the Main Entrance and check with the security guard who will direct you to the conference room.
May 19 Member Star Watch at Atsion.
May 24 New! Astrophotography Meeting, 7 to 9 pm at the Virtua Health and Wellness Center in Moorestown, NJ. The guest speaker will be Igor Peshenko of the Bucks-Mont Astronomical Association discussing Deep Sky Astrophotography with a DSLR Camera.
May 29 Full Moon at 10:20 am EDT in southern Ophiuchus (near Scorpius).
June 1 Formal Meeting, 7:30 pm at the Virtua Health and Wellness Center in Moorestown, NJ.

Club member Steve Mattan captured this "Milky Dawn" on March 27, 2018, from the Devil's Garden trail head parking lot in Arches National Park, Moab, Utah. It was taken at 6:08 am MDT with a Canon 60D digital SLR camera, on a fixed tripod, and a Canon EF-S 10 to 22 mm zoom lens set to 10 mm focal length. It was exposed 30 seconds at f/3.5, ISO 2000.
